What does this mean?

A referral to children’s social care is when someone tells us they think a child may need Council services.  This measure shows how many referrals to children’s social care came within 12 months of a previous instance.

Why is this important?

This measure is important because it shows how good the Council’s is at deciding on the right response to referrals to children’s social care, and providing the appropriate services to avoid repeat referrals being presented.
