Reduce the rate of children in need per 10,000 population 0-17 (all children aged 0-17 with an open referral, CIN, CPP and LAC)

What does this mean?

This measure shows how many of CWaC’s children (per 10,000 population) are classed as being ‘in need’. Children are defined as being ‘in need’ if they are unlikely to have a reasonable standard of health or development without provision of services from the Council or they have a disability.

Why is this important?

This measure is important to reduce the number of children who require engagement from the Council’s Children’s Social Care service and to demonstrate that the needs of children are being supported by public services in CWaC.
