Average length of stay in temporary accommodation (weeks)
What does this mean?
Temporary accommodation is for people who are homeless but not rough sleeping. Types of temporary accommodation include; Bed and Breakfasts, hostels, temporary flats and houses. Since the Council wants to make sure as many people as possible are able to remain in their own home, the Council is trying to reduce the use of temporary accommodation by either stopping people coming in to temporary accommodation, or moving those who are in temporary accommodation in to permanent homes. This measure there shows how well the Council is doing in reducing use of temporary accommodation.
Why is this important?
This measure is important because it shows how well the Council is doing to work with our residents to both stop people needing temporary accommodation, and how well the Council is working with people in temporary accommodation to find permanent homes.
